One in five children fails science

One in five children fails science

One in five children are failing science lessons. Are you one of them?

Children's marks in science have fallen to an all time low. 


Only 81% of children passed their science exams, compared to 88% in previous years. This is the lowest result since 1999.


However, it might not be their fault... Education experts say that in previous years, science exams were too easy and children were taught for the tests, and didn't really have that much science knowledge. Because schools were being put under pressure to get good science marks, more pressure was put on pupils to learn and revise. 


It has been claimed that these new tests are a truer reflection of how much children know about science.

    i love science and its one of my favourite subjects. Failing in science would be an option to me. i think people don't understand science to its best.

    I do like science and I'm very good at most of it! However, I thought that GSCE and A Level exams were getting easier. The old GCSE's and A Levels made you work hard to get your grade but apparently these aren't so hard!
