News Crew Adam's week of fame
I am writing to tell you about the week beginning 8 March, which I have dubbed “My Week of Fame.” Here is why!
The first reason was down to the newspaper, First News, the real child-friendly newspaper.
In issue 196, my Grandpa and I noticed a typing error in one of the reported dates on the Home News section. The date said that the Battle of Bosworth Field took place in 1845, when it actually took place in 1485!
I emailed First News and, very soon, I had a response. They said they would mention me in the next issue, and correct their typo!
The day came. Issue 198 arrived. As soon as I saw the front page, I nearly collapsed. There, on the front of the paper was my uncle’s coffee running car!I could not believe it. Both my uncle and myself in the same paper! Thank you, First News!
Then, on Thursday 11 March, I was shortlisted to take part in my school’s talent show – Woodham’s Got Talent. It was so much fun! I entertained (I hope) with a piano solo entitled Through the Fire and Flames known famously for the guitar version by Dragonforce.
I would love to take this opportunity to congratulate the deserving winners, Beth Gibson and Nathan Elwick, Hayley Gallagher who received second prize and Sian Nicholson, who was awarded third.
My school does indeed have talent. I would also like to mention our brilliant music department, the Mystery Teachers act and, of course, the real star of the show – our host, David “McFlurry”, after his hilarious speeches and McDonalds story.
Well done, everyone!
