Leona Lewis helps animal sanctuary

Pop superstar Leona Lewis has vowed to help save an animal sanctuary in Essex.

Leona has pledged her support to help Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Essex raise £100,000 by Christmas to keep it open. Leona visited the sanctuary earlier this year and fell in love with it.

She says: “I’ve always loved animals and felt a kinship with them ever since I was a child. I love how loyal, trusting and comforting they can be.

“When I first visited Hopefield I knew this place would become a big part of my journey. I’ve always dreamed of being a part of a safe haven for animals that have been abandoned or faced abuse and neglect and Hopefield is exactly that.”

Leona has taken part in a charity walk to help the sanctuary and will be a regular visitor to the centre to help
the animals.

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary takes on an animal for life, instead of rehoming them.

Leona has recorded a special message for First News about Hopefield. You can see it below…
