Keeping Britain tidy costs millions. Should there be stricter fines for litter louts?

It costs £858 million to pick up litter each year, according to Keep Britain Tidy.

This figure has gone up by almost £100 million in just one year.

Samantha Harding, manager of the Campaign to Protect Rural England’s Stop the Drop Campaign, says: “We must make littering as unacceptable as vandalism.”

Do you think that there should be stricter fines for litter louts to combat the million pound clean up costs? Let us know by voting on our poll at www.firstnews.co.uk/polls.
