Junior campaigners help feed 5000 in Trafalgar Square
Junior campaigners from Grey Court School and East Sheen Primary were out in force today to support Feeding the 5000.
School Food Matters invited 100 students to help distribute fruit and veg, that was destined for landfill, to grateful passersby.
They also gave out a powerful message about the amount of perfectly good food that is wasted every day by businesses and households when 4 million people in the UK alone live in food poverty.
Within two hours, charity partner Fareshare had served up delicious vegetable curry to 5000 people, with London's Mayor, Boris Johnson on hand to dish up lunch for children from East Sheen Primary.
