Jellyfish Attacks
700 stung by jellyfish off the Spanish coast.
AROUND 700 people in Spain have been stung by jellyfish while swimming off Spanish beaches in one week.
Officials have been forced to post notices on beaches to warn swimmers.
The area worst hit by the stingers is the Costa Blanca on the eastern side of Spain.
A spokesperson for the Elche city tourism department said: “In the five or six years I have been in this job I have never seen anything like this.”
