It will take 10 months to remove the Costa Concordia
THE capsized cruise ship, Costa Concordia, could take up to ten months to remove.
Rescue operations have been continually delayed because of rough seas. Franco Gabrielli, who is in charge of the operation, said the main aim is to remove the fuel on board the ship, so that it doesn’t leak and become an environmental disaster.
Once the fuel is removed, the ship can be moved, either in one piece or in sections.
