India given avalanche warning
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has reopened after two major avalanches and five landslides were cleared.
A cold wave further tightened its grip in Jammu and Kashmir with most places in the state recording sub-zero temperatures.
The chilly weather has frozen many rivers and lakes, as well as drinking water taps.
An avalanche warning has also been issued in some snowbound hilly areas.
