I’m a Celebrity Chef Gino D’Acampo and actor Stuart Manning shouldn't have been arrested for killing a rat

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here fined for killing rat

80% of you thought that I’m a Celebrity Chef Gino D’Acampo and actor Stuart Manning shouldn't have been arrested for killing a rat. Here is what actually happened.

The RSPCA has fined ITV TV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here for allowing Chef Gino D’Acampo and actor Stuart Manning to kill a rat.

Chef Gino D’Acampo and actor Stuart Manning killed and ate the rat on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here because they were hungry and hadn't been given enough food by the producers as punishment for failing tasks.

In our Firstnews.co.uk poll where we asked 'Should I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here chef Gino D’Acampo be arrested for eating a rat?' a massive 80% of you said that Gino D’Acampo and Stuart Manning shouldn't get in trouble for killing the rat. Some of the reasons you gave were...

"They must be starving in the jungle, besides nobody told them what they couldnt eat!"

Ella Chebib

"They were hungry what else could they do??!"

Beth Pardo

"No they shouldnt because how is it any different to slaughtering animals for meat and eating them! besides if you were starving im sure you would do the same. Say you worked on a farm.how would you like it if you were prosecuted for killing and eating animals? It shouldnt be different for them just because they were on the telly. And if they think it will promote animal cruelty then people should know better to not copy!!!!"

Bethany Williams

As the show is filmed in Australia, it was the Australian branch of animal charity RSPCA who complained about the act. They fined ITV £1,672 and the TV company also had to pay £1,435
in costs.
