Illegal alcohol kills 180 in India

Illegally-made alcohol has killed more than 180 people in India.

In the space of just a few short days, the close-knit community of Sangrampur in eastern India has been devastated by mass poisoning from toxic, home-brewed alcohol.

Most of the dead are poor manual labourers. The alcohol was mixed with cheap, toxic chemicals to increase profits.

Almost all the dead were men, most of whom were the sole bread-winners in families that were already struggling with life on the poverty line.

Whoever made the alcohol is selfish and mean

Devastating news. I am glad that none of my family drink alcohol, because sad incidents like this have a risk of occurring. I feel so sorry for all those who have lost a loved one due to this. :(

I think whoever made the alcohol should be taken to court and jailed for mass murder and illegal sales.
