I went to a magic workshop at Davenports Magic

This month a new book about wizards is released so me and my uncle got to go to a magic workshop at Davenports Magic. We were so excited as we both really enjoy magic.

We arrived at Davenports and went through to the back room where we were greeted by Paul Brown who showed us how to perform many tricks confidently and convincingly to our audiences.

The first trick he taught us was called Buddah Papers. This trick turns lead into gold and it is amazing. We can’t wait to try it on a few people. He got us to make the papers ourselves which was a lot of fun. Then, after we had a little practice with them, he told us the history of alchemy which was really interesting. We learned quite a lot.

The next trick he taught us was using more paper. This time it was tissue paper. We had to rip the piece of paper into tiny pieces and then make it reappear. Wow! This trick was so easy once you know how and really easy to perform too.

After our lunch we got to watch a magic show performed by Paul. He was brilliant. He showed us a trick that included ripping up and burning signed cards which, somehow, reappeared whole. I still can’t figure out how. This magic show is on every weekend and I can’t wait to go again.

As well as the incredible magic show Paul taught us some slight of hand tricks using some big coins. He talked about how we could improve on making the trick look more convincing and gave us some very good tips to work on. Me and my uncle have been practising like mad and can’t wait to fool an audience.

We loved this whole experience and really can’t wait to go back and learn some more.
