I was invited to spend the day at Birdworld

To celebrate the release of Rio Ultimate Carnival Edition on DVD, I was invited to spend the day at Birdworld.

My family day at Birdworld was amazing. There were lots of colourful birds, with plenty to see and do, and lots to learn as well. They have about 650 birds in total, and around 170 different species. Did you know that flamingos get their colour because of the food they eat, which is pink?

Not only are there lots of amazing birds to see, but there is also an underwater world with loads of different species of wonderful fish, some really amusing ones, and a small petting farm where most of the animals are wandering around freely.

Then there’s the safari train, which tells you all about the birds as you go past them. The prehistoric trail is a small woodland walk, and has dinosaurs to see.

For me though, the best part of the day was when we met the macaws and their keepers, and the parrots, where we met Noddy, a 15-year-old macaw, who could ROAR like a lion. It was so funny, you have to go to hear him roar and listen to the many words he mutters and the tricks he likes to perform. He really did make us laugh.

My day at Birdworld was totally awesome. You would be really surprised at how much you will learn and find amusing.
