I played in a special cricket match...
When our cricket match started I had no idea that it was going to turn out to be such a special game.
We batted first and scored 212 for two before declaring, and five overs into our opponents’ innings it looked like being a draw. The score was 48-2 when I was asked to bowl.
The first ball of my over hit the leg stump. It was great to make such a good start, but I wasn’t satisfied. I took my run up for the second time and hit the middle – now I was happy!
People began to wonder if I could make it a hat-trick. The third ball also hit the middle stump and after that the fourth was now expected to be a wicket – and so it was, as the middle stump fell again. The fifth wicket was almost amusing and running up for my final bowl I was trying not to think about the chances of taking another.
I was astounded and overjoyed when it happened and I had performed a six wicket maiden!
