I entered the Teen Queen competition

My name is Molly and I’m 14 years old. I’ve been interested in fashion and modelling for a few years and, when someone I knew entered the Teen Queen competition a few years ago, I decided that it would be a good opportunity to see what the world of beauty, fashion and modelling would be like and whether I have the potential to do well in it.

I only found out I was in the final a few months ago and it is already beginning to change my life. I’ve set up a Just Giving page and took part in a 25 mile sponsored bike round around Rutland Water in August.

It’s very exciting being part of a big, national competition. It has also helped me become more confident and realise how many other levels a pageant has than just beauty – charity and inner beauty are important too. I was so happy with all the support I received from family and friends in the voting round and, even though I ended up in third place, they are just really proud to see me following a dream and being confident.

Teen Queen has helped me realise that anything is possible and you can achieve whatever you want. It’s also good that I can do something to help other people in the world who don’t have as many chances in life as I’ve had.

It has been such a great experience and one I shall remember for the rest of my life.
