I still find myself thinking how lucky I am to have had an amazing journey. Having entered the Young Songwriters Competition, I made it through to the top 24. To get votes, I sang on the streets with my friends handing out flyers and was interviewed by local radio.

The top four was announced and I was off to London. Finding it difficult to contain my excitement, I entered the studio and the main man, producer AD Chivers introduced the professional musicians. It was a wonderful day, I got a song on iTunes and I was interviewed by newspapers and appeared on radio and television!

I felt honoured to have been given this life-changing opportunity. I hope this competition continues to grow, as it’s a brilliant way to harness the young talent this country has to offer whilst being an innovative and fun way to raise money for a worthy cause. I hope others enjoy the process as much as I did.
