I am Britain's first Top Trumps champion!
Last year my school entered the National Top Trumps Tournament and I became Britain’s first Top Trumps champion.
We started by having a mini-tournament in school and played at break-time and lunchtime until I eventually became the champion for our school.
We didn’t play with one pack of cards like I had always played before, but with a special tournament edition, which is a big board that holds six packs of Top Trumps.
When I won the school tournament I was given a password to play online to try to get a place in the final in London. After playing every spare minute I managed to get into the top 72, which meant I was off to London!
My mum, brother, teacher, friend Sam and I went to London by train and the final was held at the Science Museum. I couldn’t believe that I got through the first two rounds and made it to the final six players.
I was really nervous and was amazed when I won! I had become Britain’s first Top Trumps champion, as last year was the first time the event was held. The makers said: “Congratulations – you are the country’s top Top Trumper”.
I was interviewed, videoed, photographed and congratulated by everyone!
I have had the most brilliant year and had a taste of fame but on Saturday I had to hand over my title to this year’s winner. Ouch! But I got a lovely retirement card – a Top Trumps card all about me.
