Horses ridden through bonfires to celebrate animal saint

Riding horses through bonfires is just one way that Spain celebrates San Anton, the patron saint of animals.

In some parts of Spain villagers ride their horses through bonfires the day before the feast day of San Anton, the patron saint of animals.

San Anton is honored by many Catholic churches in Spain where thousands of animal lovers flock to their nearest place of worship to have their animals blessed.

What would happen if the horse became afraid of the fire, bucked and then the man fell off. Are they trained not to do that or something?
