HMV sells Amelia Lily's 'Winners' X Factor single five days before the competition ends

HMV has come under fire for selling Ameila Lily's 'Winners Single' five days before the X Factor ends.

The song was listed as 'Amelia Lily X Factor 2011 Winners Single' and was available for pre-order.

This made some people think that the results of the X Factor may be fixed.

HMV said that the single was uploaded by mistake, and that it doesn't mean anything.

HMV spokesperson Gennaro Castaldo said: "Hmv.com was looking to accept customer pre-orders for versions of the X Factor winner’s single recorded by each of the three finalists.

"However, due to a technical issue only Amelia Lily’s details were uploaded. These have been temporarily removed so that all three finalists’ details can go up at the same time."

This is easy to do (sometimes you might even see it on firstnews.co.uk!) because most website journalists 'future date' articles. This means that they will write the article ahead of time and set it to go live on the website on another day.

The X Factor will end this weekend with Amelia Lily competing against Marcus Collins and Little Mix.
