High demand for JK Rowling's Pottermore

JK Rowling's Pottermore website has faced overwhelming traffic over the last couple of days, as countless fans have attempted to register for early access.

Back in June J.K Rowling announced the latest twist in the Harry Potter series - a new website called Pottermore. The author announced that the website - www.pottermore.com would contain exclusive new material including info on the characters, places and objects included in the Harry Potter series.

Although not officially open until October this year, one million Harry Potter fans will be granted access to a version of the site over the next few weeks and the competition to be one of the lucky one million began yesterday. 

Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming amount of people going on the website today, many online fans were faced with the following message on the site's homepage: "Due to overwhelming demand, you cannot access Pottermore right now."
