Harry Potter most popular books
A World Book Day survey has found that the Harry Potter series are the most popular books
A survey, to celebrate World Book Day, has found that the Harry Potter by JK Rowling books people would most like to pass on to the next generation to read.
JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series came top of the list. Books that had been turned into movies proved popular with Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight coming in fifth.
Three-quarters of the 1,000 people asked said they had given a book as a gift last year. Scots gave books as presents more than anyone else while people in Greater London were the least likely to wrap up a book and give it to a friend.
