Halloween fun at Disneyland Paris
We went to check out Halloween at Disneyland Paris, and had an amazing time.
It was such an easy, and comfortable, journey from London’s St Pancras Station straight into Disneyland on the Eurostar. The train was so fast and smooth and the food was delicious.
In no time, it seemed like we had left London behind for the world of Mickey Mouse!
Arriving at Disneyland is, literally, like stepping into another land. It is such a happy place and, while you’re there, you can forget all your worries, (like homework!). It feels like the real world doesn’t exist any more, as you lose yourself in Disney.
We walked out of the station and through the Disney Village. The weather was glorious, a beautiful sunny autumn day. The colours were a feast for the eyes, from the Disney characters to the bright blue sky and the red, yellow and orange leaves on the trees. We headed straight to our beach-club hotel, Disney’s Newport Bay. We enjoyed the fabulous swimming pool and Jacuzzi, all designed around a ship. But we were keen to get straight to the Disneyland park to see the parade. This photo of the parade (left) shows The Lion King – the colours are so strong it almost doesn’t look real. I think it looks like a painting!
That night we went to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It meant we could go on rides late at night and there were different shows to watch around the park. It was truly magical.
The next day, we went into Disney’s MGM Studios and saw an amazing stunt show. My favourite ride here was Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which I went on about ten times!
We had dinner that night in Annette’s Diner in the Disney Village. The food was great – burgers, pasta and chocolate brownies – and all served by waiters on roller skates!
On our last morning, we had breakfast in Café Mickey in the village and met many of the Disney characters. Then it was time to head back to the Disneyland Park for the last time. I went on Space Mountain so many times I lost count. Another favourite was the Buzz Lightyear ride, where you score points with a laser gun. My brother beat all of us by miles! It’s A Small World is probably the happiest ride in the world and Peter Pan’s Flight is stunning, as you soar above the buildings of London on your way to Neverland.
All too soon it was time to come home – but we’ll be back. I hope!
