Greece starts to build barbed wire fence to keep out immigrants
Building work has started on a giant barbed wire fence
Greek Civil Protection Minister Christos Papoutsis said that Greece needs to protect its borders to stop people from illegally entering the country.
Greece say that its economic problems make it unable to cope with the high numbers of people who cross the border.
They hope that building a 10km (six mile) fence along part of the border will stop people being able to sneak into the country illegally.
However, not everyone agrees with the fence. Protestors have said that it violates people's human rights. Other people say that it is a waste of money at a time when Greece is having financial problems.
What do you think? Is the fence a good idea?

Gosh it seems a bit of an overreaction to me. But then again if it is protecting them from illegal entries then I don't blame them

It looks a little drastic at first sight, but I guess Greece has really been hit hard by the recession at the moment so it needs all the money it can get.

I don't think that is fair at all because it is as if they are treating the people like animals and blocking them off from a good life in Greece.
