Fund to protect rare white dolphin
A fund has been set up to help try to protect the very rare humpback or white dolphin.
A group of eight wildlife conservation and environmental organisations from Taiwan are joining together to try to buy a wetland area which is home to the Taiwan Sousa or Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphin.
Local people in the area have nick-named the dolphins the Sea Goddess and want to help protect them.
The very rare dolphins are classed as ‘near-threatened’ and can only be found in the waters around China and south-east Asia.
