Fox cub found on a lilo
A swimming-pool owner found a fox cub floating in his pool. Find out what happened next...
Swimming-pool owner John Barnes woke up at 5am to find a fox cub splashing in his swimming pool!
The soggy fox cub had fallen in the swimming pool but had managed to climb on a lilo, saving it's life.
Mr Barnes used a rake to push the lilo to the edge of the pool, but the frightened cub tried to bite the rake and fell back in.
Luckily, it managed to get back on the lilo and jump out.
Foxes don't like to swim and Mr Barnes said that the cub was so tired it could hardly walk, meaning it would have drowned had he not come to the rescue.
"We have heard of foxes getting into water in gardens and before this case, all of them have ended with the fox losing its life," added Trevor Williams, director of the Fox Project charity.
Mr Barnes has now added steps to his pool so that any trapped animals can climb out.
