Farm visit in Nanny McPhee's footsteps, by Leah, 9, Elmwood Primary School

In the film Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Nanny and the kids spend some time on a farm. We went to visit one ourselves!

City farm is where you get the experience to learn how to work on the farm. You get to do lots of jobs and learn facts about each every animal in the farm. You can stay there for seven days feeding animals, picking eggs, cleaning the animals stalls and helping in the garden.

When I went there I learned about pigs because we where mostly working with the pigs that day. I learnt that pigs are pregnant for 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days.

You don’t just learn about pigs, other days you do wonderful other things that are also a lot of fun.

There is a huge amount of fields that you can play around in and enjoy the outdoors. I thought it was very nice because in London there is not much countryside. It is so nice to have seven days in the countryside, staying on a farm.

At the farms you spend a lot of time with all the animals like the sheep, pigs, cows and puppies. You even get to pet them some of them have soft fur, others have rough fur. It was really nice and lots of fun to be in the countryside and to see animals.

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang is released on Blu-ray and DVD on 19 July from Universal Pictures.
