Entire village for sale in New Zealand

Entire village for sale in New Zealand

A whole village has been put up for sale in New Zealand’s Southern Alps.

The village of Otira, in the Arthur’s Pass National Park, has a pub, a fire station, a village hall, 18 houses and 44 residents.

The current owners, Bill and Christine Hennah, bought the village for £38,000 in 1998. They are retiring and so want to sell it on. The village’s sale price is NZ$1 million (£465,400) and several bids from all over the world have been made.

The people who live in Otira say it is a beautiful place to live and perfect if you want to escape stressful city life.

1 million isn't expensive at all. For a village, i suppose.
