Dolphins don't like swimming with humans

A new study has shown that bottlenose dolphins in Zanzibar get stressed when swimming with humans.

EXPERTS have discovered that dolphins don’t actually like swimming with humans.

A study of bottlenose dolphins in Zanzibar found that the animals were experiencing ‘incredible’ stress when packed pleasure boats approached them.

The scientists watched the dolphins for 40 days and saw that, when the boats were present, which often get in close to the animals so divers can swim with them, the dolphins were unsettled and spent less time feeding, socialising or resting.

There are around 150 bottlenose dolphins living along the south coast of Zanzibar.

I would be scared too if a large boat-thing came at me and humans jumped in next to me! Sometimes the boat can hit one of the dolphins! They should keep whalewatching and - err - DOLPHINwatching, from a good distance, but get rid of swimming with dolphins unless they are in captivity.
