Dog wolfs down corn on the cob mini-skewer

The family of six-month-old Collie puppy, Chubb, from Glasgow, was shocked when their greedy dog wolfed down a corn on the cob mini-skewer.

He was at a family barbecue and gobbled up the entire contents of the plate, including a corn on the cob core complete with the sharp three inch metal skewers.

His owner, Yvonne explains: “Chubb is a very greedy dog. He wolfs down his food and rarely takes the time even to chew. He was so fast I couldn’t reach him in time to stop him swallowing the remains of the corn on the cob together with the skewer.”

“The x-ray clearly showed the skewer lodged in Chubb’s stomach, but luckily it hadn’t caused any damage yet,” said PDSA Veterinary Surgeon, Siobhan Casey. “
