Dog rescued from floating ice - watch the video!
Watch the video of a dog being rescued from floating ice in the Baltic sea!
The dog was first spotted floating on a chunk of ice on the Vistula river which flows through the centre of Grudziadz in Poland. It was too dangerous for anyone to rescue him so the dog continued on his icy journey.
Two days later the crew of a ship, called the Baltica, spotted the dog, still floating on an ice sheet, but now 15 miles from the Baltic Sea coast. The dog was clearly in difficulty as he kept slipping off the ice into the chilly water, but just managing to climb back onto the ice.
The crew lowered a small boat onto the icy sea and managed to grab the dog, lifting him into
the boat.
After a rubdown to dry and warm him up, a vet examined the dog, nicknamed Baltic, finding him quite healthy, considering his ordeal.
