Dog glues mouth shut after eating the post
Barking mad Jack Russell Toby managed to glue his own mouth shut after devouring post smeared with envelope glue.
Toby's owner, Gill Bird, said her pet would often eat the post, meaning she would normally have to run when she saw the postman, to get her hands on the letters first.
This time, however, it seems Ms Bird didn't get to the door quickly enough, because pesky Toby cornered the post and and ripped it to shreds.
The poor pooch must have gotten a bit of a shock when the envelope glue started to mix with the torn up letters, creating a strange papier-mâché effect in his mouth.
When owner Gill later tried to give Toby a chip to snack on, she found it strange that her pet wouldn't open his mouth for the treat. It was then that Gill discovered her dog had glued his own mouth shut, and when she tried to prise it open it just wouldn't budge!
In the end, pet and owner had to go to the vets to solve the sticky situation and Toby was sedated while the vet spent a good ten minutes removing the paper-mâché mix from his mouth.
Toby is now recovering nicely from his postal ordeal, but Gill doubts he has learnt his lesson!
