Congo vote accused of being 'rigged'

Opponents and independent observers have said that the election of President Joseph Kabila in the Democratic Republic of Congo was rigged.

Kabila first became president in 2001 after his father was assassinated.

The main accusations of rigging came from Kabila's rival Etienne Tshisekedi who rejected the results and declared himself president

However, Information Minister Lambert Mende has said that foreign diplomats have agreed that Kabila rightfully won the poll
