Chimp trained to feed tiger bottle of milk

Chimp trained to feed tigers

At first glance this picture looks very cute – but what is the story behind it?

Reports say two-and-a-half-year-old chimpanzee Dodo has been trained to feed two tiger cubs out of a bottle. He’s been feeding cubs every day for more than a year at the Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo in Thailand.

Tourists love taking pictures of the funny scene but now people are questioning if it’s right for a chimpanzee to be trained to do this. Animal lovers say it is not natural, unfair on the animals and only being done to make money.

Unfortunately some animals around the world are exploited to make money from tourists. Some are kept in poor conditions or treated badly.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare encourages people to think carefully about the places they visit or activities they take part in to ensure that they don’t encourage cruel exploitation of animals for entertainment.

If you are on holiday this summer and see anything which causes you to worry about an animal, you can act to help them.

The Born Free Foundation said: “There are lots of wild animals kept in zoos around the world, such as this chimpanzee and tiger cubs in Thailand. Many live in extremely poor and unnatural conditions. Cages are often small and many animals have nothing to do all day but walk up and down the same small area. So keep your eyes peeled and, if you do spot an animal that concerns you, please contact the Born Free Foundation via their website at: www.bornfree.org.uk/TAA (photographs of the animals are always useful too!).”

I personaly think this is sick, this sort thing may get a out of hand and then we will end up with very bad endings. if this is something that the chimp learnt naturaly then i would find t interesting but because its been taught i believe its wrong, cruel and kind of silly.

That is so weird. But they are not harming the animal, but it is not natural, so I think it is cruel.

The monkey looks like a mum to the tiger, it looks really kind and caring

I knew it seemed a little strange looking at the photo. I dunno...I think apes being dressed up like humans and made to make money seems a little twisted to me. And what about the tiger? Unless it has actually been orphaned, shouldn't the cub be with its mum?
