Children’s author donates book profits to animal charity

A children’s author is donating the royalties of her new book to animal charities The Mayhew Animal Home and Animal Rescue Care

Animal loving author Linda Flynn is donating ten percent of the royalties of her new book Hate At First Bite to animals charities The Mayhew Animal Home and Animal Rescue Care.

Hate at First Bite is narrated by Dude, a rescue dog. He is scared of sticks, but he can’t resist shoes, especially sleek, soft shiny ones with looping laces. The story centres around him teaming up with his owner's new girlfriend's cat, and they adventures they go on.

Caroline Yates, CEO at The Mayhew Animal Home, said: “We are thrilled that Linda has generously chosen to give a percentage of her royalties to help the animals in our care. The demand for our services rises year on year, but we very much hope that 2011 will herald a change in attitudes to animal ownership and a decrease in the numbers of dogs and cats arriving with us unwanted or abandoned.”
