Simon Cowell confirms Cheryl Cole as US X Factor judge

Cheryl Cole officially confirmed as US X Factor judge

Cheryl Cole has been confirmed as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.

After what has felt like a lifetime of speculation, music mogul Simon Cowell has confirmed that Cheryl Cole will be joining him and L.A. Reid on the US X Factor, as a judge. 

In regards to the show's producers, Cowell stated: "They wanted her all the time. They absolutely fell in love with her. In a way, the deal was almost conditional on Cheryl having the gig. You meet someone special a few times in your life, and this girl is special. She's going to do really well in America."

Cole stated: "I'm so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I absolutely love it here in the UK and with the talent they have out in America, I'm sure we're going to find someone very special. I can't wait to get started."

Reportedly Cowell's former co-judge on American Idol, Paul Abdul, will fill the last seat on the judging panel. 

The show will hit US screens this autumn.

    Cheryl Cole is an amazing judge and really deserves it. However, I believe that as a British she should stick to English x-factor and American x-factor should be judged by American's. American x-factor is for Americans and should be judged Buddha their own country x i love Cheryl though and if they are going to have someone rock our could try, ten she is definitely the right person!
