POP star Cheryl Cole was taken to hospital this week with a serious disease called malaria.
The first sign that she was unwell came when the 27-year-old X Factor judge and Girls Aloud star fainted during a photoshoot at the weekend. To begin with it was thought she was just exhausted. The early symptoms of malaria include a headache, aching muscles and weakness or a lack of energy. 
Cheryl returned recently from a short break in Tanzania with friend and dancer Derek Hough where she probably picked up the disease.
Malaria is caught from an infected mosquito and it only takes one bite to get the disease.

CHERYL COLE spent two hours in intensive care after being struck by the deadly disease malaria.

    I feel so sorry for Cheryl, but her name is now Cheryl Tweedy not Cheryl Cole! Hope she gets better!

    I feel sorry 4 Cheryl 2 - cant believe they called her cheryl cole and she was divorced AGES ago!
