Cheetahs return
Indian cheetahs are making a comeback!
There are no longer any cheetahs in the wild in India due to hunting but three sites
are being put aside for the reintroduction of the big cats. The government has approved two sancturies as potential homes for the cheetahs (the world’s fastest land animal)and will spend 30m rupees (about £400,000) to get the sites ready. The cheetahs will come from Africa, Iran and the Middle East and their return will make India the only country on the planet to host six of the world’s eight large cats.
