Celebrities react to UK riots on Twitter

Many celebrities have taken to Twitter to urge those involved in the riots to stop, and encourage people to help with the clean up.

Piers Morgan, Jessie J, Kelly Holmes and many other celebrities have taken to the social networking site in response to the riots that have shaken the UK over the last three days.

Piers Morgan wrote: "Millions of people are suffering in this financial crisis, but not looting/rioting/pillaging - no sympathy for these yobs whatsoever."

Jessie J wrote: "These riots are not cool. Frustrates me that I cant do anything, no one can. Anger being taken out on innocent people and innocent communities is not fair."

Kelly Holmes wrote: "400 people arrested (should be more) Get them a broom, 1000 bags & a pair of marigolds each & make them clean up the mess with parents!"

The rioting which started in Tottenham, North London, has now spread to other areas of the capital, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham and Liverpool.

I think the riots have gone far too far. It needs to stop. It's good celebrities are encouraging the clean-up but I don't particularly like Piers Morgan...

I think the people who started them are just jealous because of all the rich people. Its ridiculous. I feel sorry for all the innocent people who are having their homes taken away from them and all the shop owners especially family buissness'. Its devastating.
