Carol Vorderman says kids should study maths until they are 18

TV personality Carol Vorderman has said that she believes maths should be a compulsory subject for students under the age of 18.

Currently maths is a compulsory subject for students 16 years old and under. However, in a recent report, TV personality Carol Vorderman wrote that maths should be a compulsory subject for students under the age of 18.

Vorderman said that some children are not gaining the essential mathematical skills needed for the world of work and something needs to be done to change this.

At present around half of GCSE students fail to achieve a C grade in maths.

    Maths is cool, and people dont realise until it's too late. That maths can be useful in everyday life, people living on a budget or engeneers need to know percentages and proportians. You may say you hate it now, bu when you dont get the job you like, you will regret it. ( gosh, i sound like my maths teacher)
