Canada pulls out of environmental treaty

Canada has been criticised by countries around the world, after pulling out of the Kyoto treaty

The Kyoto treaty legally requires countries to stick to agreed environmental standards.

Government ministers claimed that the decision was necessary because otherwise Canada would have been fined almost £9 billion for breaking emissions limits.
