Can Murray Make It?

Can Murray Make It?

Murray has stormed through Wimbledon and has made it to the quarter finals without losing a single set. Read on to find out more in this special report written by junior sport news reporters James Doherty and James Reynolds...

Murray has stormed through Wimbledon and has made it to the quarterfinals without losing a single set. Even Federer and Nadal, the favourites to win have lot sets. Could this boost of confidence help Murray win? The level of male tennis has rocketed; even names like Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt have been knocked out. The competition has started to get serious.

Many say that Federer shouldn't win this year because he has won so many times that its getting boring to watch him beat everyone else. Although, he did almost get knocked out in the first round which shows that other competitors are stepping up.

In female tennis the Williams sisters were looking like the ones to beat until Venus got beaten by Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria. Serena on her role knocked out Sharapova and Na Li and is now in the semi-finals looking strong.

This year, Wimbledon has been extremely exciting, and Murray looks like he has a good chance of winning. But unfortunately Federer and Nadal are getting better and better throughout this tournament.
