Rebecca Flint aka Beckii Cruel, a teenager from the Isle of Man, has become a popstar in Japan after releasing her videos on YouTube.

Beckii Cruel recorded herself dancing and singing to J-pop, Japanese pop music, and wearing Japanese style clothes. She put these videos up on YouTube where they have been subscribed to by 22,000 people and watched over 1 million times.

Beckii Cruel was spotted by a company called Tokuma Japan and teamed with two other girls – 18-year-old Sara Cruel from France, and 16-year-old Gemma Cruel from Portsmouth. Known as the Cruel Angels they released their album last week.

One reason why Beckii Cruel has become so popular in Japan is beause she looks like the Japanese Anime cartoon characters – she has a small face, large eyes and slender limbs.

Beckii Cruel said that although she uses the internet, she knows how to stay safe on the internet: “I'm well aware of the dangers of the internet; my school back home on the Isle of Man is good at educating us on that,” she said.
