British Gas engineer uses a potato to plug a water leak!

An engineer shocked his customer when he used a big potato to stop a water leak on a boiler pipe.

The potato was just a temporary measure to stop the leak - even though all the engineer had to do was turn a screw to fix the boiler.

Instead he pushed a potato onto a pipe and the hot water, which was still coming out of the boiler, burned the potato!

Bristish Gas said it was "not a usual" practice to stop a leak with a potato.
