Britain's last battery hen is released
Liberty the chicken is the last battery hen to be rehomed in the UK after small battery hen cages were made illegal.
The small cages will be replaced by bigger cages called 'enriched cages'.
These cages contain perches have enough room for the hens to roost, nest and scratch at litter or sawdust put on the floor.
The European Union directive banning small battery cages comes into effect on January 1, 2012.
