Boy hikes for 'Help for Heroes'
A 12 year old student has just received most of his sponsorship money for a walk he did in May - he raised £600 having completed a 96 mile hike in terrible weather, for the charity Help for Heroes.
Raising money for ‘Help for Heroes’, his walk across the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William in Scotland took 6 days.
Carrying his equipment and sharing a two man tent with his ‘packhorse’ he encountered some wet and challenging weather during his arduous journey.
When asked about his expedition he said: “Whilst the walk was lovely, most days were wet and very challenging. The East shore of Loch Lomond was the hardest part of the walk. It was hilly and very steep and went on and on. I was very happy, very tired and very proud when I completed my challenge but it was worth it as we have raised over £600 so far for Help for Heroes."
