A four-year-old boy survived an 80ft fall by landing on a palm tree. Read to to find out more...

Four-year-old Joey Williams had a miraculous escape after falling 80ft from a balcony and landing on a palm tree.

Joey fell from the 17th floor of the hotel in Miami, Florida, after climbing over the balcony railing to catch a balloon that he was playing with.

Luckily, he missed dangerous pipes and other objects, bounced off a palm tree and landed on the 10th floor next to an upstairs swimming pool.

The only injuries he had were a hurt hand and some bruises and hours later he was sitting up in bed eating chips and drinking a milkshake.

"It's amazing that he's alive," said Lt. Ignatius Carroll, a spokesman for Miami Fire Rescue
"He looked to be in pretty good shape. We thought he might have internal injuries. But he's fine."
