Birds at risk in Northern Ireland

The RSPB is concerned about the future of starlings and house sparrows in Northern Ireland.

The RSPB is now saying both species are highly threatened, after studying data collected by their Big Garden Birdwatch.

Changes to the environment over the last 20 or 30 years have had a huge impact on the numbers of several bird species.

Starlings and house sparrows are the most common birds in Northern Ireland, but numbers are dropping yearly.
