Find out what happened when a baby owl fell into a lion cage...

WHEN a cute little fluffy baby owl fell into a lion enclosure at a zoo, onlookers felt sure it was all over for the trembling owl. They were wrong.

By what can only be described as a miracle, the baby owl remained unscathed for the whole duration of its stay in the lions’ enclosure. After tumbling from its nest, the friendly little fellow hopped straight up to Indu, a two-metre long Asiatic lion and made friends with him.

The alarm was raised immediately when visitors noticed the owl next to the lion, but it was far too dangerous for anyone to enter the enclosure to rescue him. The zoo keepers needn’t have worried though. Indu wasn’t remotely interested in his new feathery friend, and after doing some exploring, the owl flew to safety. Lucy Manning from Paignton Zoo in Devon said: “I think the chick was deemed too small to eat.”
