Baby marmoset becomes wildlife ambassador

This baby marmoset survived being abandoned by her mother and has gone on to become an ambassador for wildlife.

The marmoset, who has yet to be named, was abandoned at just six weeks old, as her mother couldn’t produce enough milk for her.

She is now being given round-the-clock care at Western Sydney’s Wild Animal Encounters. She is doing well and has been taken to visit schools, shopping centres and events, to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation.

Marmosets, which are a type of monkey, are one of the smallest primates on Earth. Director of Western Sydney’s Wild Animal Encounters, Ben Britton said: “She’s a gorgeous little monkey and only weighs 70g.” (That’s about the weight of two bags of crisps!)
