Babe author Dick King-Smith dies

Children's author Dick King-Smith, author of Babe The Sheep Pig has very sadly died. 

Children's author Dick King-Smith very sadly passed away on Monday January 4th 2011.

The author of Sheep-Pig (Babe), The Hodge-heg, The Mouse Family Robinson and The Fox Busters died in his sleep age 88.

The author who was farmer for 20 years before becoming a school teacher, had been sick for many years before he died.

Dick King-Smith was appointed an OBE for services to children's literature last year.
