Damien Hirst, the artist who once covered a skull in diamonds

Artist gives a cab driver a drawing worth £5,000 as a tip

Artist Damien Hirst gave a cab driver a tip worth a lot more than 10%....

Damien Hirst, the artist who once covered a skull in diamonds, displayed half a cow, pictures made out of butterfly wings, and a pickled shark, has given a cab driver a drawing worth £5,000 as a tip.

Cab driver Jon Horsley told Damien Hirst that he had a 15-year-old son called LJ who was studying art for is GCSE's, so the artist drew a picture of a skull, a butterfly and a shark for him and autographed the picture.

The picture is going to be autographed next week and the money is going to be used to buy LJ a professional video camera so that he can go to film school.
